Berdyansk 1938

I know I've posted this picture, but there were no close-ups that time and I wanted to make some now. But then I understood that was not possible. The picture is far too beautiful to find any "best spots" in it! So I put under the cut the original scan enormous as it is. Check the background thoroughly: the ships, the tanned bodies, the boat... My favourite "best spot" is the long-legged guy sitting in the tide in the background, left from the flowery woman in the right corner.

Ye Olde Family Photos

[livejournal.com profile] sanchess provided us with another beautiful link!!

This is a forum thread, Ye Olde Family Photos. Some of the pictures are pretty banal but quite a few of them are very good, with very interesting commentaries attached:

Some things the Jews learned from the Sunnis. And that is when someone respected dies, everyone they know marches around the hood with their image making sure everyone else knows. This one was for my grandfather Rubin, a Soviet WWII vet. They didn't have a good photo of him that was large enough, so my pops sketched that and sent if off from Brooklyn before arriving. Don't be mistaken, these pix are not from the 1950s or something. That's actually like 1980. The guy in the blue jeans is not a time traveler.
